HCCH Asia Pacific Week 2017

The symposium has a main focus on the Hague Conventions concerning children and includes sessions on the 1961 Apostille Convention, the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP), and sessions on international litigation. The objectives of the Symposium are to introduce relevant Hague Conventions to the wider Asia Pacific region of, to share and exchange information on Hague Convention-related practices and experiences and to strengthen co-operation amongst participating States.

International Conference on Child Support Policy organized by the University of York
The conference Child Maintenance - International Perspectives and Policy Challenges - An ESCR International Research Seminar Series began with the seminar: ”First Principles: Comparative Legal Frameworks and Public Attitudes” at the Nuffield Foundation in London on 27 March 2014. It consists of an international series of 6 seminars on child maintenance obligations ending in the late summer of 2015. The series is funded by the UK’s Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC Award ES/L000792/1). For further details, please click here.

President Barack Obama signed the implementing legislation for the Hague Child Support of 23 November 2007 on 29 September 2014. According to the “Preventing Sex Trafficking and Strengthening Families Act (HR 4980)”, a bipartisan bill passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate on July 23 and September 18, all US states that have not yet passed the “Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA) 2008 Amendments” have to do so in 2015, or they risk losing federal funds. International Conference Commemorating the Enactment of the Child Support Enforcement Act in the Republic of Korea
On July 10, 2014, the Korean Women's Development Institute holds an international conference on child maintenance which will be attended by experts from Korea, Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom. The starting point of this initiative is the passing of the Child Support Enforcement Act in the Republic of Korea on March 24, 2014, which will enter into force on March 25 next year.
